Responsibilities

• The Licensed Vocational Nurse is accountable for the health status and health needs of their patients based upon interpretation of health data and preventative health practices in collaboration with the patients and interdisciplinary healthcare team members.

• Accountable to assist the RN and surgeon in preparing for surgical procedures, assist in surgical procedures, and prepare for the next case.

• Handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.

• Has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.

• Has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.

Qualifications

Job Requirements: 

• Current LVN licensed in the State of Texas -or- eligible for issue of a Texas Graduate Vocational Nurse Permit
• CPR certified by American Heart Association or American Red
• Cross required

Preferred Job Requirements: 

• Preference will be given to individuals with previous similar clinic experience.
• Previous job experience in delivering exceptional customer service.
